Farmall Model 1468 1971-1974 (14"x17")
In 1971, IH introduced the Model 1468 along with the 66 Series. It was built on the Model 1466 heavy-duty frame, but featured a DV-550 V-8 diesel engine from the IH truck division. This was the first IH farm tractor with a V-8 engine. A unique feature was a system that injected fuel into only four cylinders under light loads and all eight under heavy loads. The International Farmall Model 826 was introduced in 1969. It was rated at 84 PTO hp and had the hydraulic power to handle the large implements needed for larger farms. In 1970 IH announced the Golden Demonstrator Tractor Program. The 826 was chosen to be part of the program and featured gold painted hood and fenders. International Harvester introduced the Farmall 1206 in August of 1965. It featured a new heavy-duty power train and 361 cubic inch, turbocharged, six-cylinder, diesel engine. Farmall Model 806 1963-1967 (14x17)
International Harvester introduced the 806 in 1963. This new tractor design featured a heavy-duty transmission with an optional Torque-Amplifier which offered 16 forward and 8 reverse speeds. The 806 used a C-301 six-cylinder engine for the gasoline and LPG-powered tractors. The diesel version featured the new D-361 six-cylinder direct start diesel engine which produced over 94 PTO horse power. In 1954, International Harvester introduced the Super M-TA. The exclusive "Torque Amplifier" provided an on-demand power downshift which gave the Super M-TA ten forward and two reverse speeds. The "TA" offered increased lugging power to get through the tough spots without down-shifting the main transmission. The Torque Amplifier was a Harvester innovation and a first in the farm industry.
