The Kinze 640 is a unique one-of-a kind custom tractor, built by Kinze Manufacturing, in 1974. The 640, known as "Big Blue", was designed and built to test the DMI Hydro-Wide plow at the 1974 Farm Progress Show. The 13 bottom plow was developed in a joint effort by Kinze and DMI, and a big powerful tractor was needed to demonstrate its working capabilities. The "Big Blue" was constructed from two John Deere 5020's, repowered with two Detroit Diesel engines rated at 320 horsepower each. With two engines and two transmissions to synchronize, this big articulated tractor was soon nicknamed "Double Trouble". The "Big Blue" made a rare public appearance and demonstrated at the Half Century of Progress V Show at Rantoul, Illinois in 2011. (Click on Picture for more information and to order).Price of $79.
