The 1969 Camaro was the last model year for the original Camaro body styling. It featured more sculptured lines which gave the '69 a longer, lower appearance. A variety of option packages included the Rally Sport (RS), Super Sport (SS), and Z-28 performance package, all with distinctive styling accents. The '69 featured a terrific choice of power plants starting with 140 hp. six-cylinder and jumping up to the 327, 350, 396, and 427 cubic inch V-8's, with horsepower levels from 210 to a whopping 425 horses. Camaro was loved by both the young and young-at-heart. A new sales record of 243,095 units sold in 1969, was proof of the growing love affair between the American car buyer and Chevy's sporty muscle car.
