Minneapolis-Moline Model R 1939-1954 (14"x17")

The Minneapolis-Moline Power Implement Company introduced the Model R in 1939. It was a 2-row tractor, designed to handle a 2-bottom plow. The Model R featured a 165 cubic-inch, 4-cylinder engine with a four-speed transmission. The engine featured horizontal valves specially designed to permit maintenance without the necessity of the engine being completely dismantled. The R was available in duel-front, single front, standard tread and adjustable front axle models. Equipped with power takeoff, electric starter and lights, the Model R was ideal for working smaller farms. The R could also be equipped with an innovative, enclosed steel cab, but few were sold because this idea was not accepted at the time. In 1948, the popular Model R was upgraded and remained in the M-M line until 1954.
