Oliver introduced the new 1938 models in October, 1937. The restyled Model 70 also introduced the beginning of the Oliver Fleetline Series. The 70 was available in the row-crop configuration, with either dual or single front wheels. Standard-tread, orchard, and industrial models were also available. The Oliver 70 offered a powerful, high compression, six-cylinder engine with a feature called Fuel Miser. The Fuel Miser automatically regulated the amount of fuel each cylinder needed for maximum efficiency and fuel economy. Oliver led the industry with the new streamline body design introduced in late 1937. By 1939, standard equipment included the electrical sustem, hand and foot brakes, rubber tires, and six-speed transmission. At this time in agricultural history, Oliver was producing some of the finest and best performing tractors in the world.
