In 1932, the International Harvester Company began production of the new F-20 to replace the original Farmall Regular. The slightly larger F-20 retained all the proven hard-working features of the Regular, while the four-cylinder engine provided 10 per cent more power. The adjustable rear wheel tread added to the versatility that farmers needed for a variety of crops and farm chores. When production ended in 1939, a total of 148,960 F-20 tractors had been built, breaking all previous records. This record proved the popularity and importance the F-20 played in the development of the growing American farm industry.
