The Farmall A was one of a new generation of tractors introduced in 1939 by International Harvester. This new line offered the American farmer more versatility and performance than ever before. The A was powered by a four-cylinder engine and featured an offset seat which provided an unobstructed view. This tractor was ideal for cultivating row crops, gardening work, mowing, and other small farm chores. With the addition of some outstanding improvements, the Model A was upgraded to the Super A in 1947. Adjustable rear tread, electric starter, lights, Touch-Control hydraulic system, and four-speed transmission all provided even more versatility. Total production numbers of the A and Super A from 1939 to 1954 reached 220,000 units.
