The John Deere Model B was ideal for the small to medium size farm. The Model B was two-thirds the size of the John Deere Model A, but had all of the General Purpose features. The B could pull two 14-inch plow bottoms and provided power through the drawbar, belt, power takeoff and hydraulic power lift. This durable tractor was easy to handle and the adjustable rear wheel tread and individually controlled rear wheel brakes were great for row crop farming. First introduced in 1935 and restyled in 1938, the Model B featured a reliable, easy to work on, two-cylinder engine. This tractor was one of the most popular tractors in the history of farming with over 292,000 produced during a 17 year production run which ended in 1952. This little John Deere tractor is truly a part of our American history and is still very popular with collectors today. If you attend one of the many antique tractor shows across the country, you are sure to see one up close.
