John Deere Model 730 1958-1961 (14"x17")

John Deere introduced the 30 series in 1958. Focusing on additional operator comfort and convenience, this series also brought an attractive all new styling to the John Deere line. The 730 model featured a sloping automotive-type steering wheel, easy-to-read instrument panel, new muffler design, and dual headlights mounted in the fenders. Throughout the 1950s American farms continued to get larger and larger. In 1961, this trend ultimately forced the end of production of the 730, giving it the distinction of being one of the last of the famous two-cylinder tractors manufactured. After nearly half a century of reliable performance, the famous two-cylinder was replaced with a new John Deere power unit soon to become even more popular on American farms.
