John Deere introduced the Model 720 as part of the 20 Series in 1956. These tractors incorporated a long list of engineering advancements designed to meet the growing power requirements for large row-crop farmers. The all new 720 could pull a 5-bottom plow and offered all the latest time and labor saving features to make farming easier, faster, and more cost efficient. In official Nebraska tests, three new John Deere 720's - a gasoline, LP-Gas, and Diesel model - all developed more than 58 belt hp to set a new power record for row-crop tractors... the 720 Diesel also set an all-time fuel economy record.
