John Deere Model H  1939-1947 (14"x17")

The John Deere Model H was a small tractor introduced in 1939 to replace draft horses still being used on smaller farms across America. The H met the small farmer's need for both power and affordable price. It was also welcomed on large farms as an economical source of power for lighter farm jobs that did not require the use of larger tractors. The Model H featured a narrow tapered hood for unimpaired visibility and was ideal for cultivating. John Deere offered a complete line of matched working equipment for the H, which was built along the same styling as the A, B, and G. It also shared many of the same general purpose features and reliability which made the John Deere line so popular with the American farmer in the late 40s and 50s.
