The John Deere Model A began its long and successful history in 1934. By 1939, the Model A sported an all new look with a more powerful engine and built stronger throughout to match its increased horsepower. It was the ideal tractor for farms where difficult soil conditions or hilly land demanded greater power, or for larger row-crop farms where big capacity equipment was needed to get the work done. The Model A still offered great versatility to allow farmers to work any crop at any row spacing needed, and four-way power to do any job on the farm. It is not hard to understand why the John Deere Model A became one of the most popular tractors in the company's history and remained in production until 1952.
