In 1934, John Deere introduced the Model A featuring adjustable rear wheel tread. The rear tread width could vary from 56" to 84", which allowed the farmer to work any type of crop at any row spacing needed. It also featured four-way power for every job on the farm... drawbar, belt, power takeoff, and hydraulic power lift. The simplicity of design, versatility, and reliability of the Model A soon made it one of the most popular tractors in the company's history. In 1938, the Model A was restyled and remained in production until 1952.
